Covers the fundamentals of isolating hazardous energy, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical and thermal, before maintenance, servicing or repair begins. Built for anyone who needs to isolate equipment safely and prove it is de-energised before work starts.
Entry Requirements
- No formal prerequisites
- Recommended: a basic understanding of workplace machinery or safety systems, to maximise relevance
Learning Outcomes
- Identify hazardous energy sources across electrical, mechanical and other systems.
- Apply lockout and tagout devices correctly to prevent re-energisation.
- Verify zero-energy state before work begins.
- Respond to isolation failures and near misses.
Course Content
