Course Overview
CPR on its own, the core life-saving skill without the full first aid course around it. Learn to recognise cardiac arrest and perform effective CPR on adults, children and infants until help arrives. Ideal as a fast annual renewal for anyone who already holds HLTAID011.
Entry Requirements
- No prerequisites, open to anyone
- Physical capacity to perform CPR and simulated rescue on a manikin (kneeling, bending, chest compressions)
- Contact us first if you have any physical limitations
Learning Outcomes
- Recognise the signs of cardiac arrest.
- Perform effective CPR on adults, children and infants.
- Apply an AED correctly and safely.
- Manage a rescue scene until emergency services arrive.

Assessment Methods
Practical demonstration of CPR on manikins (adult, child, infant), in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
RPL & Credit Transfer
This is a short, practical renewal. Most students complete it fresh each cycle rather than seeking credit transfer.

You will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to receive your Statement of Attainment. Free at usi.gov.au.
Language, Literacy & Numeracy
No specific LLN barrier for this short, practical, hands-on session.
