Course Overview

Advanced, practical training for professionals stepping into underground electrical leadership. You will cover explosion-protected equipment, hazardous-area inspection, mine layout planning and emergency protocols, condensed into a fast-tracked 3-day format built for people already working in the industry.

Entry Requirements

  • No mandatory prerequisites, but an electrical trade or engineering background is strongly recommended
  • Prior surface mining experience, for example EEM Surface
  • Industry experience in mining or heavy industry
  • WHS knowledge and familiarity with mining processes
  • Some units may carry their own prerequisites, confirm your eligibility with our team

Learning Outcomes

  1. Establish and maintain risk management systems for underground operations.
  2. Plan and manage large electrical projects underground.
  3. Inspect, install and maintain explosion-protected equipment to standard.
  4. Apply ventilation, gas detection and emergency protocols on-site.
