Course Overview
If someone goes down near a live panel, you need to know exactly what to do, fast. This course teaches you to safely rescue someone from a live low voltage panel and perform CPR to current Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines. Short, hands-on, and mandatory for electricians and anyone working near live electrical installations.
Entry Requirements
- Current or prior HLTAID009 (CPR) certification, or complete it as part of this course
- Physical capacity to perform CPR and simulated rescue tasks (kneeling, bending, manikin rescue)
- Complete pre-course online modules before your practical session

- Safely rescue a person from a live low voltage panel.
- Perform CPR on adults, children and infants to ARC guidelines.
- Apply an AED correctly in an electrical emergency.
- Manage electrical shock, burns and incident response on-site.

Online theory quiz, plus practical assessment on manikins for both the live LV panel rescue and CPR components.
RPL & Credit Transfer
Hold a current HLTAID009 (CPR) from another provider? Bring evidence to skip the CPR component and only complete the LVR-specific unit.

USI Requirement
You will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to receive your Statement of Attainment. Free at usi.gov.au.
Language, Literacy & Numeracy
No specific LLN barrier expected for this short course given its practical, hands-on focus. Contact us if you have any concerns about the online component.
Access, Equity & Support
Physical tasks are involved (kneeling, bending, manikin rescue). Let us know about any physical limitations before your practical session so we can plan around them. Our Student Handbook sets out our access, equity, complaints and appeals policies in full.
Certification & Issuance
Statement of Attainment issued after your practical session. Issuance can take up to 10 days. If you need it sooner, you must tell us prior to enrolment.
What To Bring
Photo ID, comfortable closed-in clothing suitable for floor-based rescue practice, and closed-toe shoes.
Prerequisites
Complete the 1.5 to 2 hour online theory modules before your face-to-face practical session. You cannot attend the practical without them done.

Notice is required to cancel or reschedule without a fee.
Funding & Subsidies
No funding or subsidies are available for this course.
Important Note on Validity
Certification is valid for 12 months. Many worksites treat this as an annual mandatory requirement, not an optional refresher. Check your site’s policy.
