Course Overview
This is the course that moves you from working near high voltage to running it. You will learn to develop switching programs, coordinate HV networks, operate local HV switchgear and work safely around live apparatus, the exact skills utilities, mining, and heavy industry sites need from their switching operators.
Entry Requirements
- Current Unrestricted Electrical Licence
- Statement of Attainment for UETDRIS018 Perform low voltage field switching operation to a given schedule
- Prior knowledge of electrical theory and experience in electrical operations recommended

- Coordinate and direct switching programs across local HV networks.
- Operate local HV switchgear safely, to procedure.

RPL & Credit Transfer
Hold HV switching units from another RTO? We accept Statements of Attainment from any Australian RTO. Contact us to discuss credit transfer before you book.

USI Requirement
You will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to receive your Statement of Attainment. Free at usi.gov.au.

This course assumes existing electrical theory knowledge.

Certification & Issuance
Statement of Attainment (7 units) issued after you complete the face-to-face assessment. Issuance can take up to 10 days. If you need it sooner, you must tell us prior to enrolment.
