Course Overview
Explosion-protected equipment needs a specific skill set, and this is where you get it. Face-to-face training with workplace-integrated practicals builds the skills to install, inspect, maintain and test Ex-rated equipment to AS/NZS 60079 and IECEx standards. Built for electricians and technicians already working the hard stuff in oil & gas, mining, chemical processing and pharma.
Entry Requirements
- Current unrestricted Electrical Licence
- Currently working in industry, with access to workplace policies, procedures and documentation

Assessment Methods
Knowledge assessments plus workplace-integrated practical activities: inspection reports, maintenance planning and simulated installation tasks, assessed against AS/NZS 60079.
RPL & Credit Transfer
Hold a Certificate III in Electrotechnology or relevant prior units? RPL can reduce both your fee and the units you need to complete. Ask before you enrol.

USI Requirement
You will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to receive your Statement of Attainment. Free at usi.gov.au.
Language, Literacy & Numeracy
This course requires reading and applying technical standards (AS/NZS 60079) and completing compliance documentation.

Certification & Issuance
Statement of Attainment issued listing all 10 units on successful completion. Issuance can take up to 10 days. If you need it sooner, you must tell us prior to enrolment.

If your original EEHA training pre-dates 2022, some prerequisite units may have been superseded on the national register. Confirm with us before assuming you are eligible for the Refresher instead of this Full Course.
